ALOR SETAR, 12 March 2026 – Guided by the 5A Core Values of Aqidah, Akhlak, Adab, Amanah, and Amalan, 16 Year 1 students from the Bachelor of Media and Communication (BMC) programme at Albukhary International University organised the Kasih Ramadan & Jalinan Aidilfitri outreach programme at Pusat Jagaan Warga Emas Pewaris Langkasuka (PEWARIS).
The initiative, attended by lecturers from the School of Education and Human Sciences and an administrative representative, aimed to nurture empathy, social awareness, and respect among students through meaningful engagement with elderly residents during the blessed month of Ramadan.
Throughout the visit, students spent time interacting with residents through friendly conversations and casual activities, creating a warm and meaningful atmosphere. They also participated in gotong-royong activities to clean and tidy the care centre, strengthening the spirit of volunteerism and community service.
Notably, the programme was conducted purely as a voluntary initiative without academic assessment, emphasising sincere service and the spirit of giving.
The outreach reflected AIU’s 5A Core Values through compassionate service, respectful interaction, responsible stewardship of contributions, and active participation in charitable deeds during Ramadan.
Overall, the programme highlighted the importance of compassion-driven engagement while reinforcing AIU’s commitment to nurturing values-driven graduates who contribute positively to society.
