
AIU Economics Students Unite for Economics Family Night 2025

ALOR SETAR, 22 December 2025 – Albukhary International University (AIU), through the Economics Students Association (AESA), successfully hosted Economics Family Night 2025 at Lecture Theatre 5 (LT5) on 10 December 2025, bringing together Economics students from all cohorts to strengthen academic engagement and community spirit.
The programme opened with welcoming remarks, followed by a Qur’an recitation by Abdullah Shinwari and interactive Mentimeter ice-breaking activities that encouraged cross-cohort connection.
The event featured an academic briefing by Mr Osaid, Head of Programme for the Bachelor of Economics (BEC), who shared insights on the study plan and future career pathways. A keynote session titled What Every Economics Student Should Know was delivered by alumnus Mr Haruna Shamaki, currently pursuing his Master’s degree at AIU.
Students also participated in an Economics-themed Kahoot quiz, followed by a Graduate Talk by Akram Ebrahim Qaid Awadh, who shared reflections from his academic journey. A highlight of the evening was the Cake-Cutting Ceremony led by Mr Osaid alongside graduates, alumni, and cohort representatives, symbolising unity within the Economics family.
The programme concluded with AESA’s open recruitment announcement, a group photo session, and cake distribution, marking a warm and memorable end to the night.
