AIU BMC Welcomes New Minds with Collaborative Townhall and Engaging Orientation

ALOR SETAR, 13 November 2025 – The Bachelor of Media and Communication (BMC) programme at Albukhary International University (AIU) hosted its Townhall and Orientation at the BMC Studio on 11 November 2025, welcoming the new 2025/2026 intake of students.

The session aimed to introduce new students to the programme structure, academic staff, and student initiatives while fostering engagement, collaboration, and community spirit among the BMC family.

The event began with registration, followed by a warm welcome address by event coordinators and final-year students, Evelyn Usaiwevhu and Tengku Ruzana Zakirah Tengku Zainul Akmal.

Head of Programme, Mohamad Nor Hisyam Bin Musa, delivered an informative academic overview and briefing on course structures, module options, and key academic reminders. An engaging open forum followed, featuring discussions with academic staff including Dr. Hisham Anand Barbhuiya, Nur Syaheera Binti Zaifuddin, Dr. Sitinurbayu Binti Mohd Yusoff, and Associate Professor Dr. Kalthom Binti Husain.

In the afternoon, Associate Professor Dr. Suraya Hanim Binti Mokhtar conducted a special session on “3ZERO and Social Business,” emphasizing the integration of media with socio-economic development and introducing the BMC 3ZERO Club. The session also highlighted digital literacy, competency training, and AIU’s Zero Unemployment initiative.

The orientation continued with a BMC Peer Learning & Experience Session featuring graduating student Tegar Dhanu Kusuma, who shared his academic journey, insights from his final-year project, and advice on adapting to university life and preparing for internships.

The programme concluded with interactive activities designed to build teamwork and communication skills, followed by closing remarks summarizing the key takeaways and next steps for the new students.
