ALOR SETAR, 11 November 2025 The Centre for Foundation and General Studies (CFGS) at Albukhary International University (AIU) successfully organized the Math Mastery 4.0: Introduction to Statistics Workshop, an engaging session designed to strengthen analytical and quantitative skills among foundation students.
The workshop supported the learning outcomes of FBM113 Mathematics 1 and FBM144 Mathematics 1, emphasizing statistical literacy as a crucial skill for understanding and interpreting data in both academic and real-world contexts.
To enrich the learning experience, CFGS invited Dr. Nurulhuda Binti Ramli from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), an esteemed expert in statistics, who delivered an insightful session filled with real-life applications, interactive examples, and practical exercises. Her clear and engaging approach helped students gain confidence in applying statistical concepts such as descriptive and inferential analysis, data visualization, and interpretation.
Held at Lecture Theatre 2, the two-hour workshop was attended by students from the Foundation in Computing and Foundation in Arts programmes. Participants actively engaged in discussions and activities that enhanced their understanding of core mathematical concepts and data analysis.
The session concluded successfully with participants better equipped to analyze and interpret data using statistical reasoning, a valuable foundation for their academic journey ahead. CFGS extends its appreciation to all participants for their enthusiasm and to Dr. Nurulhuda for her inspiring contribution.
