
SBSS and CDAE Spark Industry Insights through Islamic Finance Subject Matter Expert Lecture

ALOR SETAR, 4 November 2025 – The School of Business and Social Sciences (SBSS), in collaboration with the Centre for Development of Academic Excellence (CDAE) at Albukhary International University (AIU), successfully organised a Subject Matter Expert Lecture titled “Global Perspectives and Emerging Trends in Islamic Finance: Insights from Industry Practice and Policy” held on 31 October 2025.
The session featured Dr. Hurriyah El Islamy, Executive Board Member of Badan Pengelola Keuangan Haji (BPKH), Indonesia, and Adjunct Professor at AIU. She shared invaluable insights on the evolving global Islamic finance landscape, highlighting key topics such as Shariah governance, sustainability, and digital transformation shaping the industry’s future.
The event saw full participation from Bachelor of Finance (Islamic Finance) students, alongside attendees from other SBSS programmes and faculty members. The interactive Q&A fostered meaningful engagement between students, lecturers, and the speaker, reflecting AIU’s commitment to connecting classroom knowledge with real-world industry expertise.
This lecture served as an inspiring platform for students to deepen their understanding of Islamic finance and explore how they can contribute to the development of ethical and inclusive financial systems in today’s global economy.
Through initiatives like this, AIU, together with SBSS and CDAE, continues to empower students with valuable industry exposure, nurturing future-ready professionals in the field of Islamic finance.
