
AIU and IKIM formalise strategic collaboration through MoU

ALOR SETAR, 29 August 2025 — Albukhary International University (AIU) and Institut Kefahaman Islam Malaysia (IKIM) have formalised a strategic partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at IKIM’s headquarters today. The MoU establishes a framework for collaboration across a range of academic and institutional initiatives.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Dato’ Ir. Dr. Mohd Saleh Jaafar, Vice Chancellor and President of AIU, and Assoc. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohamed Azam Mohamed Adil, Director-General of IKIM. Also representing the two institutions were Prof. Dr. Haji Mohamad Abdullah bin Hemdi, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) of AIU, and Dr. Mohd Zaidi Ismail, Deputy Director-General of IKIM.
The ceremony was further attended by Prof. Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Mohd Yusof Haji Othman, Deputy Chairman of IKIM, who witnessed the signing alongside other senior officials.
Among those present were Prof. Dr. Abdul Malek bin Abdul Karim, Dean of the School of Education and Human Sciences; Mr. Abdul Shakur bin Abdullah, Deputy Registrar and Director of the Centre for Corporate Planning and Communication; and Mr. Mohamad Nor Hisyam bin Musa, Head of Programme for the Bachelor of Media and Communication (Honours).
Under the arrangement, both institutions will pursue joint efforts in academic research, media production, industry-based training, and the co-development of scholarly programmes.
The collaboration is designed to leverage the respective strengths of AIU and IKIM in addressing contemporary educational, societal, and intellectual challenges.
