AIU Brings Together Experts and Students to Address Contemporary Economic Issues

The AIU Economics Students’ Association successfully organized a webinar on Contemporary Economic Issues on 22 August 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The event began with Dr. Noorul Hafidzah Binti Zawawi, Dean of the School of Business and Social Science (SBSS), who delivered inspiring opening remarks. She emphasized the importance of engaging with current economic challenges and fostering dialogue among academics and students.

The session was then moderated by Mr. Osaid Abdaljawad, Head of the Bachelor of Economics Program, who guided the discussions with professionalism and clarity. Distinguished speakers, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Alsaleh from Shanghai Ocean University and Asst. Prof. Dr. Zakaria Lacheheb from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), shared their valuable perspectives on contemporary economic challenges, focusing on sustainability, innovation, and financial inclusion.

The webinar concluded with an engaging Q&A session, where participants had the opportunity to interact with the speakers, ask thought-provoking questions, and deepen their understanding of the issues discussed.
