
EduEngage Team Empowers Youth Through Second Community Engagement Workshop

ALOR SETAR 5 May 2025 — The EduEngage team from the School of Business and Social Sciences (SBSS), Albukhary International University (AIU), successfully conducted the second phase of its impactful community engagement initiative, which was held on April 30, 2025, in Sungai Petani. The workshop brought together students from the Rohingya Community School and AIU International School, focusing on youth empowerment through resilience-building and creative self-expression.
The program aimed to equip students with practical tools to articulate their thoughts, emotions, and ideas in constructive and meaningful ways—ultimately unlocking their potential and encouraging personal growth. A total of 86 students participated in the event, including 44 from the RCS and 42 from AIU International School.
The workshop commenced with an inspiring address by Mr. Mohamad Mokhlis Ahmad Fuad, Deputy Dean of SBSS, and concluded with closing remarks delivered by Dr. Noorul Hafidzah Zawawi, Dean of SBSS. Participants engaged in a variety of interactive group activities designed to foster collaboration, communication, and creativity.
This phase of the EduEngage project was led by a dedicated team comprising Madam Noor Jannah Afi, Prof. Dr. Salfarina Abdul Gapor, Miss Siti Maizalaizzah Akma Adnan, Madam Aliaa Diyana Zamri, Miss Hla Theingi Win, Madam Aina Syafiqah Razali, and Madam Nurul Fatihah Zainudin. The team was further supported by SBSS lecturers Mr. Aiman Muqri Ahmad Shukri, Miss Nur Jazanadia Jamaludin, Mr. Afifi Nordin, and Mr. Amirul Syafiq Ahmad Ghazali, along with student facilitators from the Asian Medical Students’ Association (AMSA).
The success of this community engagement workshop reinforces SBSS’s continued commitment to nurturing educational development and inclusivity for all learners, especially those from marginalized backgrounds.
