ALOR SETAR, 6 February 2024 – Albukhary International University (AIU), through the Office of Corporate Communications and Marketing Department, recently initiated an online discussion on 3 February 2024, with a prospective collaborator in Laos, Brother Yusuf AlBasim. This strategic partnership aims to enhance educational accessibility by providing scholarships to disadvantaged students from Laos, allowing them to pursue higher education at AIU.
Replicating similar collaborative initiatives in other countries, AIU endeavours to identify talented individuals constrained by financial obstacles to tertiary education, granting them the chance to transform their lives through higher education.
“We believe that education should be accessible to everyone, particularly to those from disadvantaged backgrounds,” stated Emeritus Professor Dato’ Dr. Abd. Aziz Tajuddin, Vice Chancellor and President of AIU.
“Through this partnership, we hope to empower talented students in Laos who may not have had the opportunity to further their studies due to financial constraints. Indeed, we wish to bring more students from Laos to enroll with us,” he added.
Meanwhile, Brother Yusuf expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing the transformative impact it could have on the lives of deserving students. He remarked, “I am honoured to collaborate with AIU in providing educational opportunities to talented students who aspire to make a difference.”
Brother Yusuf received detailed information about the university, including its scholarship programme, admission procedures, Social Business initiatives, and commitment to the 3Zeros agenda. The university is also dedicated to arranging an online briefing session for potential candidates, facilitated by AIU student from Laos.
Also in attendance was Abdul Shakur Abdullah, the Director of the AIU Corporate Communication and Marketing Department.
