ALOR SETAR, 7 January 2026 — Albukhary International University (AIU) hosted a four day and three night visit by a delegation from the Ashinaga Foundation, Japan, from 22 December 2025 until 25 December 2025, comprising two staff members and four students, aimed at strengthening partnership, cultural exchange, and future collaboration.
During the visit, the delegation was introduced to AIU’s core values, the 8 Hour Rule, and its social business approach. A campus tour organised by the Students Representative Council (SRC) provided insights into AIU’s academic environment and student life.
The delegation also explored Alor Setar, visiting Pekan Rabu, Tun Mahathir’s Birthplace, and the Paddy Museum. A cultural night featured traditional Malaysian games, cultural presentations, dances, and Silat, while the Ashinaga team shared internship opportunities in Japan and Africa, generating strong student interest.
On the third day, the delegation visited Baling to observe AIU supported community projects focused on SME development.
An AIU partner since 2023, the Ashinaga Foundation has supported over 11,000 children across Japan and Africa in accessing higher education. The visit further strengthened collaboration and opened pathways for continued academic mobility and social development initiatives.
