ALOR SETAR, 5 May 2025 – The School of Computing and Informatics (SCI) Committee successfully hosted the Academic Research Workshop on 27 April 2025 via Google Meet. The workshop drew the participation of approximately 60 students from the School of Computing and Informatics (SCI), the School of Business and Social Sciences (SBSS), and the School of Education and Human Sciences (SEHS).
The event aimed to equip students with essential academic research skills, professional writing techniques, and insights into scholarly publishing.
The session was led by Dr. Zaka Ur Rehman, a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Multimedia University, who provided valuable guidance on the academic research journey. Drawing from his extensive expertise in research methodologies and academic writing, Dr. Zaka covered key topics such as the research process, literature review strategies, structuring academic papers, proper referencing techniques, and navigating the world of academic publishing.
Participants actively engaged in interactive discussions that enhanced their understanding of scholarly writing and research development. They gained practical knowledge on structuring academic papers, avoiding common pitfalls, and approaching the publishing process with confidence and clarity.
In appreciation of his contribution, a Certificate of Appreciation was presented to Dr. Zaka Ur Rehman. Students concluded the session with a strengthened foundation in academic research, better prepared to undertake future projects and contribute to scholarly work.
This workshop underscored the SCI Committee’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence, bridging knowledge gaps and empowering AIU students with the skills necessary for academic and professional success.
