Programmes
The Center for Teaching & Learning collaborates with faculty to foster inclusive, student-centred, and research-informed teaching. To encourage critical thinking and innovation in education, including the deliberate use of technologies, we provide specialised consultations, Teaching and Delivery Sharing Sessions (TeDSS), faculty fellow, and collaborations.
Teaching and Delivery Sharing Session (TeDSS)
These one-hour sessions are organised to equip lecturers with knowledge and skills to impact their pedagogical skills and create a more conducive and equitable learning environment for their students.
CTL Faculty Fellow
The Center for Teaching & Learning Faculty Fellow programme allows AIU academic members to improve their instruction and actively participate in the teaching community. The six-week programme will guide the fellow in developing and implementing a teaching or training plan focusing on specific areas.
Workshops and Inductions
These workshops are designed to help AIU lecturers build connections and foster community across the disciplines. They focus on various topics related to teaching and learning at AIU. Some workshops include Active and Collaborative Learning; Using Technology in the Classroom; Blended Learning, and Outcome-Based Education.
Services
The Centre for Teaching & Learning is pleased to support academic staff in their efforts to enhance their students’ learning, whether working individually or in groups. Aspects like course design, student assessments, discussion moderating, lecturing, etc., may come up in conversations. Please use our online consultation request form to make an appointment.
Student Evaluation of Course Content & Teaching (SEC & SET)
SEC and SET are evaluation systems in AIU conducted by CTL to assess the teaching quality, the course content, and the teaching facilities provided, as well as to serve as a platform for students to comment about the university and suggest further improvement.
Programme Management
CTL provides AIU academic programme heads mentoring and guidance in initiating, planning, and running their programme. They must understand crucial programme management elements, including attendance, course files and Google Classrooms.
