AIU AL-QISC in Collaboration with CSAA and Masjid Albukhary Organises Qur’an Competition Zone Utara 2026

ALOR SETAR, 12 March 2026 – Albukhary International University, through the AIU Al-Qur’an and Islamic Club (AL-QISC) in collaboration with the Centre for Student Affairs and Alumni (CSAA) and Masjid Albukhary, successfully organised the Qur’an Competition Zone Utara 2026 on 7–8 March 2026 at Masjid Albukhary and Lecture Theatre 2 (LT2).

 

Organised under the advisory of Osaid N. A. Abdaljawwad with assistance from Mohd Nidhoil Mohamed Ibrahim, the programme aimed to foster Qur’an appreciation, enhance memorisation, and deepen spiritual connection.

Lecture Theatre 2 served as a secondary venue for parallel Tilawah and 5 Juz categories, led by Sazally Manjang and Ummusalma Othman Adam with their respective team. Participants were assessed using tajweed and hafazan evaluation rubrics, focusing on memorisation accuracy, articulation (makhraj), and proper harakat application.

AIU students achieved notable results, with Bilali Maulid Ismail as 1st Runner-Up and Muntaqa Shehu as 2nd Runner-Up in the Tilawah category. In the 5 Juz category, Salma Adnan Al-Amodi secured 1st Runner-Up, while Siraji Yasini Shabani was crowned Champion in the 10 Juz category.

The programme concluded with the Grande Iftar at Masjid Albukhary, bringing together competitors, judges, committee members, and university representatives. Outstanding participants received awards and certificates, marking a meaningful close to the event.
The successful programme reflects AIU’s commitment to nurturing spiritual excellence and engagement with the Qur’an.
