The visit provided students with valuable exposure to multidisciplinary approaches in supporting children’s development, particularly the roles of occupational therapists and interventionists in implementing structured therapeutic and intervention-based practices. Students observed two therapy sessions and were given opportunities to participate under professional supervision, enabling them to apply theoretical knowledge in an authentic clinical and educational setting.
The programme was supervised by Madam Faeizaratul Fazeila Isa, Lecturer at SEHS, who emphasised the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in supporting children’s learning, behaviour, and socio-emotional development. The experience allowed students to bridge theory and practice while gaining deeper insight into professional teamwork within early childhood contexts.
Overall, the visit marked a meaningful step towards potential collaboration between AIU’s Early Childhood Education programme and KIDZ Occupational Therapy Centre, reinforcing AIU’s commitment to preparing future educators with practical knowledge, professional awareness, and real-world experience.
