ALOR SETAR, 25 November 2025 – The School of Education and Human Sciences (SEHS) at Albukhary International University (AIU) held a welcoming town hall for new students at the BMC Studio on 21 November 2025, offering an overview of the school’s structure, programmes, and academic expectations.
The session opened with a recitation of dua by Muhammad Amirul Adnan Bin Mohd Zainal, followed by a keynote address from Professor Abdul Malek Abdul Karim, Dean of SEHS. He emphasised the importance of time management and highlighted the consequences of poor academic discipline, reminding students of the need to use their time wisely both for academic success and future career readiness.
SEHS currently offers three programmes: Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEE), Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECE), and Bachelor of Media and Communication (BMC). The dean also introduced the academic and administrative teams supporting these programmes.
In his address, he reiterated the importance of academic integrity and urged students to avoid cheating, work diligently, and aim for a minimum passing grade of C or higher. He stressed the requirement for 80 percent class attendance to remain eligible for examinations and warned that failure to comply may lead to course retakes and delayed graduation.
Students were encouraged to strive for a minimum CGPA of 3.0 to strengthen future employability. The dean also highlighted the value of professionalism, advising students to dress appropriately, wear covered shoes, and uphold respectful conduct. Academic advisors were introduced, and students were encouraged to seek guidance whenever needed.
The session concluded with reminders on ethical behaviour, honesty in submitting leave forms, and the importance of pursuing excellence through achievements such as the Sharifah Rokiah Award and the Vice-Chancellor’s Award, reflecting AIU’s core values.
