ALOR SETAR, 24 October 2025 – Albukhary International University (AIU), through the Centre for Student Affairs and Alumni (CSAA), successfully organised “Apa Khabar Orang Kampung (AKOK) 3.0” from 16 to 18 October 2025 at Kampung Matang Kenanga, Jerlun, Kedah.
Held in collaboration with Universiti Malaya (UM), the Parliament of Jerlun, and the Pesta Sukan Bendang Antarabangsa, the programme brought together AIU students and staff to engage with the local community, reflecting AIU’s mission to nurture socially responsible global citizens through meaningful outreach.
Over the three-day programme, students joined various community and cultural activities, including gotong-royong, educational workshops, and a mental health awareness session where stress balls were distributed as part of emotional well-being efforts. The highlight was the Pesta Sukan Bendang, featuring Bendang Soccer, Tug of War, Handball, Batang Pinang Pillow Fight, and Coconut Bowling, where AIU students proudly won several events.
AIU’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Dr. Hj. Mohamad Abdullah bin Hemdi, attended the closing ceremony to show support and appreciation for the students’ contributions.
As AKOK 3.0 concluded, CSAA reaffirmed its commitment to fostering empathy, unity, and cross-cultural understanding among students, continuing to embody the true spirit of AIU as a global family.
