ALOR SETAR, 22 October 2025 – The Albukhary International University (AIU) Myanmar Students’ Association (AMSA) proudly hosted Project HOPE 2025: A Celebration of Little Stars on 13th October, marking the completion of its year-long community learning initiative with Madrasah Tahfiz Md Noor.
The event celebrated the achievements of 115 Rohingya refugee students and the dedication of AIU Myanmar student volunteers who have spent their weekends teaching and mentoring the children throughout the year.
Held in two sessions, a formal ceremony at the AIU Auditorium followed by a campus tour and fun activities at the Male Multi-Purpose Hall, the day was filled with pride, gratitude, and joy.
During the opening session, Professor Dr. Abdul Malek Bin Abdul Karim, Dean of the School of Education and Human Sciences (SEHS), delivered a speech on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, commending AMSA volunteers for their commitment to community education. Mr. Abu Bakar Bin Ngah, Director of the Centre for Community and Industry Engagement (CCIE), also graced the event, reflecting AIU’s strong support for student-led social impact initiatives.
The program featured inspiring speeches by Dr. Muath Khalil Amayreh and Madam Farah Miranda Valery Ellis Crooke from the School of Business and Social Sciences (SBSS), as well as heartfelt messages from Madrasah representative Mr. Ali. Outstanding students were honored during the Prize Giving Ceremony, and the day concluded with a lively campus tour and fun activities that brought smiles to every participant.
Now in its second year, Project HOPE 2025 is a flagship education project by AMSA, offering English, Mathematics, Science, and Computing lessons to refugee children, supported by over 50 Myanmar student volunteers and the Open Feed NGO.
The initiative embodies AIU’s 8-Hour Rule and 5A Core Values, nurturing compassion, leadership, and social responsibility among students while transforming lives through education.
