ALOR SETAR, 17 September 2025 — Three student teams from Albukhary International University competed at I-Biz Challenge 2.0, presenting projects in energy access, digital commerce, and sustainable tourism. One team was placed among the Top 10 finalists.
The event, hosted by Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Perlis from 9 to 11 September, was held as part of the 7th International Innovation, Design & Articulation (i-IDeA® 2025), a national platform for emerging talents in business innovation and applied design.
One of the teams, Pay2Power (P2P), was named among the top 10 finalists for its digital tool aimed at improving energy access in underserved areas. Combining sustainability with usability, the project stood out for its relevance to real-world infrastructure challenges. The team, comprising Fathima Asmaa Hassan Shifly, Mariyam Nihara Ousmand, Nur Alia Wan Zakariah, and Nourelwjoud, was awarded a Consolation Prize.
The second project, Unimarket Hub, tackled inefficiencies in small-scale commerce by proposing a marketplace platform designed to be both scalable and user-friendly. Led by Rivaldo Hungwe and supported by Nashir Ngoobi, Pauline Guemou, and Azhari bin Hussein, the group focused on bridging gaps in access for local entrepreneurs.
Rounding out AIU’s participation was Explore Utara, a tourism initiative aimed at promoting lesser-known destinations in northern Malaysia. By encouraging community-based travel models, the project seeks to support local economies and foster more inclusive growth in the tourism sector. Team members included Nyan Phone Zaw, Hnin Pwint Phyu, Linn Shelly Maw, Yoon Nadi New, and Ingyin May.
Competing against 75 groups across Malaysia, all three teams acknowledged the guidance of their advisor, Madam Aliaa Diyana Zamri, whose input they credited for helping them translate ideas into actionable, impactful projects.
