Language Centre Students Excel in Knowledge Transfer Programme: Matriculation English Immersion Programme

ALOR SETAR, 26 August 2025 – The AIU Language Centre (LC) successfully hosted the second Matriculation English Immersion Programme (MEIP) 2025, welcoming 40 students from Kolej Matrikulasi Perlis for a vibrant 3-day learning journey on the beautiful AIU campus.

This programme uniquely showcased the spirit of peer-to-peer knowledge transfer where participants were mentored by 16 LC students who played an active role in facilitating understanding, encouraging collaboration, and boosting their peers’ confidence in speaking English.

Workshop sessions were carefully designed to help participants progress step-by-step in their language journey, from building foundations of self-expression to confidently engaging in discussions and debates.

Beyond the classroom, MEIP 2025 blended fun, creativity, and cultural learning. Participants immersed themselves in an afternoon of traditional games from different countries, learned and performed the rhythms of dikir barat in English, and expressed their voices in a mini-debate tournament that highlighted their growing confidence in persuasive speaking.

They were also introduced to AIU through a special campus tour and an informative briefing by En. Abdul Shakur bin Abdullah, Director of the Centre for Corporate Planning and Communication.

Through these experiences, the participants not only practiced the application of English in various formats but also discovered the power of collaboration, culture, and communication in education.

The resounding success of this year’s MEIP once again reflects AIU Language Centre’s commitment to nurturing confident, motivated learners who are ready for both academic and personal success.
