ALOR SETAR, 26 August 2025 – The AIU Library team, in collaboration with AIU students from Softnex (3Zero Club), successfully organized The NEED Project Engagement and Outreach Program at Sekolah Kebangsaan Tunku Laksamana, bringing together 30 enthusiastic library prefects for a half-day of knowledge-sharing and leadership development.
Held from 8.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m., the program was specially designed to equip young library prefects with essential skills and insights to support their roles as future leaders of school resource centres. The training featured four engaging modules, namely Introduction to Resource Centre Prefectship, Library Materials Processing, Information Search & Retrieval, and Digital Literacy.
Throughout the sessions, participants engaged actively in discussions and activities, reflecting their eagerness to learn and grow. The program not only enhanced their understanding of library management but also instilled confidence, teamwork, and digital competency skills essential in today’s learning environment.
En. Azman, Guru Penolong Kanan of SK Tunku Laksamana, highlighted the importance of such initiatives:
“Activities and programs like this encourage students, especially those from the B40 community, to build self-confidence and gain different kinds of exposure.”
The event concluded with words of gratitude to SK Tunku Laksamana for their warm hospitality and to the dedicated Softnex students whose teamwork and passion ensured the program’s success.
Through initiatives like The NEED Project, AIU Library continues its mission to serve as a Centre of Reference that not only supports academic excellence but also strengthens community engagement and student leadership. Looking ahead, the AIU Library is committed to expanding such outreach programs, creating more opportunities to inspire and empower young learners across schools in the community.
