The Centre for Quality Assurance and Accreditation (CQAA) at Albukhary International University (AIU) is established centre dedicated to overseeing and monitoring the overall quality management processes across AIU.

AIU QA MANAGEMENT POLICY

This policy applies to all academic, administrative, and support departments involved in teaching, learning, research, student services, governance, health and safety, and environmental management at Albukhary International University (AIU). It governs the implementation of an Integrated Management System (IMS), which combines requirements from various international standards and national guidelines to ensure coherence, efficiency, and continual improvement.

Specifically, this policy covers the implementation of:

  1. Quality Management System (QMS) based on ISO 9001:2015;
  2. Educational Organization Management System (EOMS) in alignment with ISO 21001:2018;
  3. Academic Programme Development and Accreditation processes in line with the Code of Practice for Programme Accreditation (COPPA), MQA;
  4. Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OSHMS) aligned with ISO 45001:2018;
  5. Environmental Management System (EMS) based on ISO 14001:2015;
  6. Quality documentation, records management, and document control;
  7. Internal quality audits and readiness for external audits and certifications;
  8. Stakeholder engagement, risk management, and sustainability practices in educational settings.

Policy Objectives:

This policy aims to establish and sustain a robust Integrated Management System (IMS) that ensures efficient, transparent, and consistent operations in academic and support services across AIU.

It is designed to:

  1. Ensure compliance with ISO 21001:2018 (EOMS), ISO 9001:2015 (QMS), ISO 45001:2018 (OSHMS), ISO 14001:2015 (EMS), and the Malaysian Qualifications Agency Code of Practice for Programme Accreditation (MQA-COPPA);
  2. Promote continuous quality improvement in teaching, learning, academic governance, occupational safety, and environmental practices;
  3. Standardise operational procedures across all Schools, Centres, and functional units to enhance institutional consistency, accountability, and efficiency;
  4. Foster a culture of quality, safety, and sustainability by raising awareness and providing structured guidance on work processes, documentation, and compliance expectations;
  5. Coordinate and streamline responsibilities of all parties involved in programme development, implementation, review, audit, and accreditation;
  6. Strengthen internal audit mechanisms and improve institutional readiness for external evaluations and certifications under multiple frameworks;
  7. Integrate risk-based thinking into strategic and operational planning to anticipate, manage, and mitigate risks related to academic quality, safety, and environmental impact;
  8. Harmonise documentation standards for curriculum design, review proposals, and programme updates to ensure regulatory compliance and traceability.
