ALOR SETAR, 5 August 2025 — The AURIX 3ZERO Club of Albukhary International University (AIU) held its first off-campus outreach programme on 2 August 2025, delivering a Canva Skills Empowerment Workshop at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Baling (SMK Baling), Kedah.
The workshop introduced secondary school students to essential digital design tools and techniques using Canva, a widely used visual design platform. 17 participants took part in practical sessions covering layout principles, visual communication, and digital publishing, including e-book creation.
The event was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Basheer Riskhan, Dean of the School of Computing and Informatics (SCI), Mr. Masrani Awang, Executive, AIU Centre of Excellence in Socio-Economic Development and Innovation (ACE-SEDI), and Club Advisor, Dr. Nor Haniza Binti Mohd Khir, who engaged with participants and lent their support throughout the programme.
A highlight of the day was a mini e-book design competition, where students applied their new skills and presented their projects to a panel of facilitators. All participants received certificates of completion, presented by the Club Advisor.
To mark the occasion, the AURIX 3ZERO Club presented a token of appreciation to SMK Baling. In return, the school recognised the club’s effort with a certificate of appreciation, acknowledging the programme’s contribution to student learning.
The initiative is part of AURIX 3ZERO Club’s broader aim to expand access to digital literacy and creative skills for youth in underserved areas.
