
AIU SBSS Hosts Design Thinking Lecture Series

ALOR SETAR, 23 May 2025 – The School of Business and Social Sciences (SBSS), Albukhary International University (AIU) successfully hosted the first session of its highly anticipated lecture series, Human-Centred Innovation: Design Thinking for Social & Academic Transformation, drawing the participation of approximately 30 academic lecturers from various faculties and schools.
Held at Lecture Theatre LT6, the event featured Professor Dr. Sofri Yahya, a renowned expert in Social Business and Innovation, who delivered an engaging and thought-provoking talk titled “Beyond the Box: Design Thinking as a Tool for Paradigm Shift.”
This inaugural session explored how design thinking can serve as a catalyst for challenging conventional academic norms and inspiring transformative innovation in teaching, learning, and research practices. Attendees were invited to reimagine their roles as educators and to adopt human-centred approaches in addressing social and academic challenges.
