PENDANG, 8 January 2025 – The School of Business and Social Sciences (SBSS), Albukhary International University (AIU) recently hosted the F1 in Schools Management Bootcamp on 3 to 4 January 2025, from 9:00 pm to 5:00 pm, for students of Akademi Sains Pendang (ASP).
ASP, Malaysia’s leading school for gifted students in science and mathematics, implements the Ministry of Education’s Permata Pintar module and has a strong record in national and international competitions. To enhance their skills in project management, financial planning, presentations, and sustainability, the School of Business and Social Sciences (SBSS) has partnered with ASP to provide specialized training. This initiative aims to prepare ASP students for success at the F1 in Schools National Finals in February 2025 at UiTM Shah Alam.
The Bootcamp is part of SBSS’s flagship community engagement initiative under the Financial Inclusion’s package, comprising four comprehensive modules.
The first module, Project Management, was facilitated by Madam Noor Jannah Afi with support from Brother Monir Mohammed Hamid Abdalrahman, focused on equipping students with the skills to effectively plan, execute, and manage their projects.
Mr. Mohamad Mokhlis Ahmad Fuad, assisted by Brother Diyorbek Ismoilov, led the second module on Financial Management, in which the module provided essential insights into budgeting, financial planning, resource allocation, and strategies for securing sponsorships.
Dr. Noorul Hafidzah Zawawi, with assistance from Brother Peter Ruzige and Sister Vanessa Stephen Molel, guided students in the third module, Sustainability, applying sustainability principles, emphasizing the 3ZERO initiative and 3ZERO in Action.
The last module, Mastering Presentation Skills, was led by Dr. Mohd Ziyad Afiq Mohd Zaharim, helping students refine their presentation techniques to effectively communicate ideas and engage their audience.
The Bootcamp also offered AIU students valuable experiential learning and mentorship opportunities. While lecturers led the conceptual components, they also mentored AIU students, giving them hands-on experience in organizing and facilitating the modules. The success of the Bootcamp has paved the way for its expansion, with plans to replicate the program in other schools across Kedah, particularly in Baling and Sik, to broaden its impact and foster lasting improvements in financial inclusion and literacy.
