The State Education Department of Tamil Nadu India Holds a Virtual Meeting With AIU

ALOR SETAR, 18 March 2024 – Recently, Albukhary International University (AIU) joined a virtual meeting, with a potential partner from the State Education Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, India. Facilitated by Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), the meeting aimed to explore opportunities for cooperation in sending qualified students to pursue studies at AIU.
Emeritus Professor Dato’ Dr. Abd. Aziz Tajuddin, Vice Chancellor and President of AIU commenced the session by delivering a comprehensive introduction to AIU to all attendees. He further elaborated on AIU’s approach to developing well-rounded students, emphasizing the importance of the 5As Core Values, adherence to the 8-Hour Rule, and the implementation of Social Business and 3ZERO within the campus ecosystem.
Representatives from Tamil Nadu, headed by Ms. Uma Sankari emphasized the State Education Department’s responsibility to offer opportunities to thousands of top students from every district. She highlighted that the Tamil Nadu government has allocated a considerable budget for education in the fiscal year 2024/2025, indicating a substantial investment in the sector.
“Among the government’s initiatives is the establishment of model schools in educationally disadvantaged areas across ten districts of the state. Most students attending model schools come from underprivileged backgrounds, seeking equal chances to gain admission to prestigious institutions. I am deeply grateful to AIU for extending opportunities to outstanding and deserving students from Tamil Nadu, noting that the offer arrived at the right time and aligned perfectly with their objectives,” she said.
The meeting held on March 13th, 2024, ended positively, with the State Education Department taking the lead in identifying qualified students for admission to AIU.
Also present from AIU were Madam Norpisah Mat Isa, Registrar, and Mr. Abdul Shakur Abdullah, Director of Corporate Communications and Marketing Department. While from EMGS were Mr. Raja Muhamad Fariz Raja Eyuddin, Regional Manager and Noor Azlina Abdul Rahabudeen, Senior Regional Executive. Dr. Vijay attended, alongside Ms. Uma Sankari from the State Education Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
