AIU SLSA Organises Maw’idatul Ihsan ’26 Islamic Talk and Iftar Gathering
ALOR SETAR, 13 March 2026 – The Sri Lankan Students Association (SLSA) of Albukhary International University (AIU), in collaboration with the Centre for Student Affairs and Alumni (CSAA), successfully organised Maw’idatul Ihsan ’26 (Islamic Talk & Iftar Gathering) on 7 March 2026. The programme was held at the AIU Auditorium and continued at the Student Centre, Level 2 (Workshop Room).
The event began with an Islamic talk session at the auditorium, followed by a communal iftar gathering at the Student Centre. The programme aimed to bring students together during the blessed month of Ramadan, encouraging spiritual reflection while strengthening unity among the student community.
The lecture, titled “If This Is Our Last Ramadan,” was delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ashath from the Department of Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh (FIDS), AHAS Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences (AHAS KIRKHS), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). The session highlighted reflections on personal responsibility, spiritual preparedness, and the importance of maximising the blessings of Ramadan.
Through this programme, SLSA sought to facilitate meaningful knowledge sharing while strengthening the spirit of brotherhood and sisterhood among Sri Lankan students through the shared tradition of breaking fast together. The initiative also aimed to promote AIU’s 5A Core Values, particularly Aqidah (faith) and Akhlaq (character), within the student community.
The programme successfully created a meaningful platform for students to engage in spiritual learning and communal bonding, reflecting the values of unity and reflection during the holy month of Ramadan.
