ALOR SETAR, 12 February 2026 โ Albukhary International University (AIU), through the Centre of Excellence for Socio-Economic Development and Innovation (ACE-SEDI), successfully organised the Social Business Idea Pitching Cycle 01 on 7 and 8 February 2026, from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m., as part of the Social Business Project Competition 2026.
The two-day pitching session involved almost 300 students and featured 47 social business ideas presented by student teams. Each team was allocated 10 minutes to pitch their ideas, followed by a five-minute question-and-answer session with the panel of judges. The session marks the first of three pitching cycles designed to provide structured guidance, professional feedback, and progressive refinement of ideas prior to the Grand Competition in October 2026.
The event was honoured by the presence of distinguished internal and external judges, namely AP. Dr. Suraya Hanim Mokhtar, Prof. Dr. Sofri Yahya, Dr. Nor Haniza binti Mohd Khir, Madam Aliaa Diyana Zamri, Mr. Aiman Muqri Ahmad Shukri, Ms. Nur Syaheera Zaifuddin, Madam Baitulhusna Ahmad Zamri, Founder of Social Enterprise Naskidz, and Madam Siti Nurul Huda Nordin, Founder of Social Enterprise Kamahevo, formerly known as De Atoq Pins and Needles.
Throughout the session, students presented innovative and socially driven business ideas addressing pressing social challenges. The judges provided critical insights, constructive feedback, and professional recommendations to help teams refine their business models, strengthen feasibility, and enhance projected social impact.
The session concluded with the recognition of 10 teams for the Best Presentation Award in the First Pitching Cycle.

The Social Business Idea Pitching Session reflects AIUโs ongoing commitment to nurturing social innovators and empowering students to transform ideas into viable ventures that contribute meaningfully to society. The next pitching session will be held in April, with anticipation for even more refined, impactful, and innovative ideas from AIUโs future social entrepreneurs.
