ALOR SETAR, 30 January 2026 – Albukhary International University (AIU) organised a community engagement visit to KEDA Tepi Sungai, Sungai Petani, on 27 January 2026, involving first-year Bachelor of Social Development students and final-year Bachelor of Politics and International Relations students as part of its experiential learning initiative.
The visit provided students with hands-on exposure to real-world community settings, enabling them to apply classroom knowledge to authentic social contexts. Through direct interaction with the local community, students gained insights into grassroots development, community needs, and social intervention practices.
Students participated in discussions and on-site observations, strengthening their understanding of community dynamics, social challenges, and collaborative problem-solving, while enhancing empathy, communication skills, and social responsibility.
The programme was accompanied by lecturers and staff from the School of Business and Social Sciences (SBSS), namely Associate Professor Dr. Ayesah Uy Abu Bakar, Ms. Farah Syazwani Hayrol Aziz, Mr. Faiz Fansuri Mohd. Affandy, Mr. Aiman Muqri Ahmad Shukri, and Madam Nurul Fatiha Zainudin, whose guidance enriched the learning experience.
The visit also served as an outreach platform to encourage local youth to consider higher education at AIU, reinforcing the University’s role in community empowerment and social transformation.
This initiative reflects AIU’s commitment to bridging academia and society through meaningful experiential learning.
