
AIU Strengthens Digital Resilience through Cybersecurity Week 2026

ALOR SETAR, 26 January 2026 – Albukhary International University (AIU) successfully hosted Cybersecurity Week 2026 from 5–8 January, bringing together the AIU community and the public for four days of cybersecurity awareness, learning, and engagement under the theme “Secure Today, Safeguard Tomorrow.”
The programme opened with remarks by Prof. Dato’ Ir. Dr. Mohd Saleh Jaafar, Vice Chancellor of AIU, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Basheer Riskhan, Dean of the School of Computing and Informatics, setting the stage for meaningful knowledge sharing.
Participants benefited from expert sessions by distinguished speakers, including Mr. Zarul Hamzah (PETRONAS), Datuk Syahril Yusri bin Abdul Aziz (Secure Insight), Insp. Mohamad Faisal bin Roseli (PDRM Kota Setar), Ts. Dr. Johari Jalaludin (PLUS Malaysia), Mohd Fairuz (TM), Prof. Khalid Husain (AIU), Asst. Prof. Dr. Emir, Ts. Dr. Ismamuradi (Bank Muamalat), and Ts. Hafizah Hasan (Bank Muamalat). Topics ranged from AI-driven cybersecurity and cybercrime prevention to telco security, fraud detection, and digital hygiene.
Cybersecurity Week 2026 also featured engaging competitions, including a Capture-the-Flag (CTF) Competition sponsored by Secure Insight, a Poster Design Competition, and a Content Creation Competition sponsored by PLUS Malaysia, alongside a Cybersecurity Escape Room Treasure Hunt that promoted teamwork and problem-solving.
The programme concluded with an Awards Ceremony and Closing Session at the AIU Convocation Hall, celebrating participants’ achievements and recognising sponsors’ contributions.
Cybersecurity Week 2026 reinforced AIU’s commitment to digital resilience and public awareness, empowering participants to build a safer digital future.
