
AIU Enhances Postgraduate Research Supervision through Training Series 2

ALOR SETAR, 26 January 2026 – The Centre for Graduate Studies (CGS), Albukhary International University (AIU) successfully organised the Postgraduate Research Supervision Training – Series 2 on Friday, 23 January 2026, from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. at the Auditorium.
The training focused on the topic “Effective Postgraduate Research Supervision: Fundamentals and Best Practices”, providing academic staff with structured insights into supervisory roles, expectations, and strategies to support postgraduate research excellence.
The session was honoured by the presence of Prof. Emeritus Dr. Rushami Zein Yusoff, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Universiti Muhammadiyah Malaysia (UMAM), as the distinguished speaker. With an extensive academic background, he has published 206 journal articles and 15 books, conducted training programmes for over 400 local and international organisations, and successfully supervised more than 100 PhD and 20 Master’s by Research students, both local and international. He also brings over 25 years of experience teaching research methodology and academic writing at the postgraduate level.
Through his insightful sharing, participants gained practical guidance and best practices to enhance the quality, effectiveness, and impact of postgraduate research supervision.
This training reflects AIU’s continuous commitment to strengthening postgraduate education, supporting academic staff development, and upholding academic excellence.
