AIU Promotes Green Community Action Through “Program Jom Hijau”

ALOR SETAR, 24 December 2025 — Albukhary International University (AIU), through the A Day Without Plastic Committee, in collaboration with E-Idaman Sdn. Bhd., successfully organised Program Jom Hijau: Gotong Royong dan Kitar Semula on 18 December 2025 at Masjid Mohamad Iskandar Wan Tempawan.

The programme involved 51 AIU administrative staff who participated in gotong royong activities, including cleaning the mosque compound, painting works, and hands-on recycling initiatives, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable environment.

A key highlight was the Trash for Cash recycling activity, which saw encouraging participation from local residents. A recycling truck provided by E-Idaman Sdn. Bhd. supported proper waste collection throughout the programme.

The initiative also featured a recycling awareness talk by Encik Muhammad Hanifah bin Redzuan from E-Idaman Sdn. Bhd., emphasising responsible waste management and sustainable daily practices.

Overall, the programme strengthened university–community collaboration while reflecting AIU’s commitment to environmental sustainability and social responsibility.
