
AIU Hosts Inspiring Toastmasters Meeting to Empower Student Communication and Leadership

ALOR SETAR, 19 December 2025 – Albukhary International University (AIU) hosted an inspiring Toastmasters meeting in collaboration with the Darulaman Toastmasters Club on 2 December 2025 at the Library Café, AIU. The session introduced students to Toastmasters International and its role in strengthening communication, confidence, and leadership skills.
The meeting was honoured by the presence of Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) Radzi Yusof, District Director of Toastmasters District 51, who shared insights on how Toastmasters supports students’ academic, professional, and personal growth.
Held under the theme Voices of the World: Celebrating AIU’s Diversity, the session gathered over 30 AIU students and 15 Darulaman Toastmasters members. Students actively participated in the Table Topics segment, delivering impromptu speeches that showcased confidence and engagement.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Abu Bakar Ngah, Director of the Centre for Community and Industry Engagement (CCIE) at AIU and a Distinguished Toastmaster. Also present was Mr. Nidhoil Mohamed Ibrahim, Director of the Centre for Student Affairs and Alumni (CSAA).
Earlier that day, DTM Radzi Yusof met with AIU Vice Chancellor and President, Professor Dato’ Ir. Dr. Mohd Saleh Bin Jaafar, alongside Ms. Helen Ooi, President of the Darulaman Toastmasters Club, Mr. Abu Bakar Ngah, and Mr. Nidhoil Mohamed Ibrahim, to discuss the potential establishment of an AIU Toastmasters Club.
This initiative reflects AIU’s continued commitment to holistic student development through effective communication and leadership training.
