
AIU Strengthens Interest in STI in Kedah Through “STI MADANI Fasa 2” Programme

ALOR SETAR, 17 December 2025 – Albukhary International University (AIU), through the School of Computing and Informatics (SCI), successfully organised the STI MADANI Phase 2 Programme 2025 on 16 December 2025 at the AIU Convocation Hall. The programme continued AIU’s commitment to expanding access to STEM education for secondary school students in Kedah.
The programme was officiated by AIU Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), YBhg. Prof. Dr. Hj. Mohamad Abdullah bin Hemdi, who emphasised the importance of early exposure to Science, Technology and Innovation in nurturing future national talent. A total of 900 students and teachers from schools across eight districts in Kedah participated, with support from the Kedah State Education Department (JPN Kedah).
Participants also received a briefing on AIU’s scholarship opportunities by Mdm. Norpisah, Registrar of AIU, highlighting accessible pathways for students to pursue higher education.
Key highlights included inspirational sharing by Ms. Rahmah Mohamed Razali, Senior Officer at Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp), through Exploring the World of STEM – The First Step Towards the Future, and Mr. Abu Bakar bin Ngah, SCI Lecturer, AIU, who delivered Building the Future Together with STI. Through the Bachelor of Media and Communication (BMC), AIU also launched a collaboration with MyTV Mana-Mana for live streaming, strengthening digital outreach.
The programme featured digital workshops led by AIU students, health awareness booths by Kedah Medical Centre (KMC), an educational game showcase by Raxbit, and a lucky draw session for participants.
Also in attendance were representatives from MOSTI, including Deputy Secretary of the Division, Mdm. Nani Rahayu binti Sudin; Dean of SCI, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Basheer Riskhan; and a representative from JPN Kedah, Mdm. Norazean bt. Abdullah, Assistant Director, Student Development Sector.
