
AIU Strengthens Global Citizenship Through Intercultural Youth Dialogue

ALOR SETAR, 17 December 2025 – Albukhary International University (AIU), in collaboration with Prince of Songkla University, Faculty of Education, and Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), participated in the Global Conversation Series: Voices of Youth in Global Citizens (Intercultural Educational Landscapes). The programme provided a vibrant platform for youth to discuss global citizenship, cultural understanding, and social responsibility.
The session opened with remarks by Dr Meehan Wongdeang, Deputy Dean for Strategic Planning and International Affairs. It was moderated by Ms Nurham, with Sofia Harare, International Affairs Coordinator from Prince of Songkla University, as co-moderator. Programme coordination involved Sofia Harare (Prince of Songkla University), Madam Rubini Radza (AIU), and Dr Hafizah Hajimia (UUM).
Youth representatives from Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand shared perspectives on intercultural learning, humanitarian responsibility, and the role of universities in shaping globally minded students. Discussions also highlighted the importance of understanding culture deeply, fostering empathy, and building international friendships.
The programme successfully strengthened intercultural awareness and inspired participants to embrace global citizenship in both academic and everyday life, paving the way for future dialogue sessions and collaboration among youth.
