
AIU Strengthens Youth Recovery Through Academia–Community Collaboration

ALOR SETAR, 16 December 2025 – Albukhary International University (AIU), in collaboration with Pusat Pemulihan Nur Al-Barakah Sufi (PPNABS), successfully co-organised Mukhayyam Tarbawi 2025 from 17 to 19 November 2025 at KEDA Resort Bendang Man, Sik, Kedah, to support youth recovering from addiction through a structured spiritual and psychosocial camp.
AIU contributed several core modules, including Inner Peace and Acceptance Through Group Hypnosis and Wiser Decision-Making for Life After Addiction by Dr. Mohd Faiz Fansuri bin Mohd Affandy (SBSS). Participants also attended Motivasi Mengenali Jatidiri led by Dr Noorul Hafidzah binti Zawawi (SBSS), which focused on identity, purpose, and spiritual grounding based on AIU’s 5A Core Values.
Physical resilience was strengthened through Combat Addiction Through Sports Engagement by Mr. Muhammad Zhafran bin Jasmi, AIU Sports Officer cum Warden, while relapse prevention strategies were addressed in Know Your Triggers by Mr. Mohammad Hafis Shafiq bin Mohammad Sopian, AIU Counsellor (CSAA).
The programme was jointly supported by a dedicated SBSS and CSAA team, including Ms. Farah Syazwani Hayrol Aziz, Mr. Aiman Muqri Ahmad Shukri, Mr. Afifi Nordin, Ms. Nur Jazanadia Jamaludin, Mr. Nidhoil Mohamed Ibrahim, Madam Nurul Huda Hassan Bakri, and Madam Fazlia Azhari, in close collaboration with PPNABS. The closing ceremony was officiated by Mr Mohamad Mokhlis bin Ahmad Fuad, Deputy Dean of SBSS, representing AIU.
Following the encouraging outcomes, AIU and PPNABS are exploring a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to further strengthen collaboration in rehabilitation, community outreach, and student engagement initiatives.
