ALOR SETAR, 23 October 2025 — Trashformers, 3ZERO Club ID 458-021-0093, is a student-led initiative under the 3ZERO Club at Albukhary International University (AIU), inspired by the mission to transform waste into worth and education into empowerment.
Led by Desti Anggri (Bachelor of Elementary Education) with Lovely Amanda (Bachelor of Media and Communication) as deputy, the team includes Yusuf Adiwijaya (Bachelor of Economics), Marina Santri (Bachelor of Media and Communication), and Fitra Irpandi (Bachelor of Politics and International Relations). Together, they share a passion for education, sustainability, and social change, turning AIU’s core values into real community impact.
The group is advised by Madam Aini Syahira Jamaluddin (School of Education and Human Sciences) and M. Nur Darina Ibrahim (AIU Language Centre), with programme management supported by ACE-SEDI.
Trashformers offers English and Mathematics tuition classes for underserved children from Kampung Padang Chepa, Alor Setar. The initiative currently supports 22 children aged 7–12, providing equitable learning opportunities while promoting environmental awareness.
Running as a social business, participation is set at RM50 per month, with RM10 exchanged for recyclable materials like plastic bottles and paper — a creative mechanism that reduces financial barriers while encouraging sustainability.
Classes began on 13 September 2025 at School A, AIU Language Centre, conducted every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. by 15 dedicated SEHS student-teachers. The first cycle will conclude on 6 December 2025.
This initiative truly embodies the 3ZERO mission — zero poverty, zero carbon emissions, zero unemployment — and reflects the AIU 8-Hour Rule, proving how youth-driven action can cultivate minds and morals while transforming communities, one class at a time.
