AIU and REGENERASI Sign MoU, focus on sustainability education
ALOR SETAR, 7 October 2025 – Albukhary International University (AIU) formalised a partnership yesterday with Persatuan REGENERASI dan Kelestarian Alam (REGENERASI) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the university’s Library Meeting Room.
The collaboration establishes a framework for educational outreach, sustainability awareness activities, and AIU student participation as campaign ambassadors for REGENERASI’s #MyPalmPride initiative. The campaign focuses on promoting sustainable palm oil practices and strengthening public understanding of Malaysia’s environmental landscape.
AIU Vice Chancellor and President, Prof. Dato’ Ir. Dr. Mohd Saleh Bin Jaafar, noted that the partnership aligns with one of the university’s 3ZERO vision, Zero Net Carbon Emission, and supports AIU’s broader agenda to embed sustainability and social responsibility within its academic and community engagement programmes.
Meanwhile, Datin Emilia Rosemawati Binti Uzir, President and Elder Council of REGENERASI, emphasised the importance of academic collaboration in reinforcing evidence-based sustainability education and expanding youth involvement in regenerative initiatives, particularly in creating awareness of sustainable palm oil practices.
Through this partnership, AIU and REGENERASI aim to strengthen youth leadership in sustainability and foster practical learning experiences that connect classroom knowledge with real-world environmental practices.
REGENERASI is a Malaysian non-profit organisation focused on youth empowerment, environmental regeneration, and food security. Its programmes provide education and outreach opportunities to promote sustainable practices and civic awareness among young Malaysians.

Sahrulnizam Bin Doni, Director, Centre for Corporate Planning and Communication, Mr. Abdul Shakur Bin Abdullah, Dean, School of Education and Human Sciences (SEHS), Prof. Dr. Abdul Malek Bin Abdul Karim, Dean, School of Computing and Informatics (SCI), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Basheer Riskhan, Director, Albukhary Centre of Excellence in Socio-economic Development and Innovation (ACE-SEDI), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suraya Hanim Binti Mokhtar, and participating students.
