ALOR SETAR, 30 September 2025 – Following the success of The NEED Project community engagement programme at SK Tunku Laksamana last month, the AIU Library continued its commitment to supporting schools and nurturing young library leaders through sustained outreach initiatives.
On 28 September 2025, the AIU Library delivered a bookshelf and a collection of donated books to SK Tunku Laksamana, aimed at enriching the school resource centre and supporting the learning journey of its library prefects. This contribution reflects the AIU Library’s ongoing effort to strengthen a reading culture while empowering prefects to take a more active role in managing and promoting their school library.
The initiative continued the next day, 29 September 2025, when the AIU Library team extended similar support to PPKI & SMK Kepala Batas by donating a bookshelf and books. During the visit, the team also held a productive discussion with school representatives on upcoming engagement programmes under The NEED Project. These future activities will provide opportunities for students to build confidence, develop leadership skills, and gain new forms of exposure.
Chief Librarian, Ms. Syuhada, emphasized the long-term vision of the initiative, stating:
“The NEED Project is not a one-off initiative, but a continuous programme designed to nurture, empower, educate, and develop students through long-term collaboration with schools and communities.”
Through these sustained efforts, the AIU Library continues to fulfill its role as a Centre of Reference, not only providing academic support within the university but also extending its impact to the wider community by cultivating a culture of reading, inclusivity, and lifelong learning.
