
AIU Building Stronger Community Engagement with Taman Sinar Harapan Jitra

ALOR SETAR, 17 September 2025 – Albukhary International University (AIU) strengthened its commitment to community engagement through an official visit to Taman Sinar Harapan, Jitra, Kedah, a government-run institution under the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM) and supervised by the Department of Social Welfare (JKM), which provides care, training, and rehabilitation for people with disabilities (Orang Kelainan Upaya).
The delegation, led by Mr. Aiman Muqri Ahmad Shukri, Advisor of the 3 Zero Club, comprised Prof. Dr. Salfarina Abd Gapor, Director of the Centre for Research and Innovation Management and Lecturer in Social Development, along with Ms. Farah Syazwani Hayrol Aziz and Ms. Nur Jazanadia Jamaludin from the School of Business and Social Sciences.
The visit began with a warm welcome from the Taman Sinar Harapan representatives, followed by a presentation of AIU’s vision and mission by Mr. Aiman, highlighting the university’s role in advancing social development through education, research, community service, and its guiding principle, the 8-Hour Rule.
Representatives from Taman Sinar Harapan delivered an insightful presentation on the institution’s key operational areas, highlighting its services for individuals with developmental challenges such as Down Syndrome, Autism, and intellectual disabilities. During the session, both parties engaged in meaningful discussions on potential collaboration. Taman Sinar Harapan expressed interest in receiving technical support to strengthen its operations, paving the way for future partnerships in community engagement and service.
