ALOR SETAR, 3 September 2025 – Albukhary International University (AIU) organised a full-day training programme, “Supporting Student Mental Health: Awareness, Action & Self-Care for Educators and Staff” on 29 August 2025, to enhance institutional readiness in addressing student mental health challenges and to reinforce self-care practices among faculty and staff.
Held at the Examination Hall 1, the programme was jointly organised by the Centre for Student Affairs and Alumni (CSAA), the Human Resource Department (HR), and the Centre for Development of Academic Excellence (CDAE), with technical support from the ICT Department and Procurement Unit. Participants included academic and administrative staff from across the university.
The one-day programme focused on three core objectives: raising awareness of student mental health issues, equipping staff with basic strategies to support students in need, and promoting sustainable self-care practices among staff members themselves. Sessions combined expert sharing, practical exercises, and interactive group discussions.
Feedback from participants affirmed the relevance of the training, with many sharing the importance of balancing student support with staff well-being and describing the programme as both timely and necessary.
