AIU Delegation at Global Leadership in Social Business Innovation Conference

ALOR SETAR, 2 September 2025 – A delegation from Albukhary International University (AIU), led by Mr. Abu Bakar Ngah, Director of the Centre for Community and Industry Engagement (CCIE), participated in the Global Leadership in Social Business Innovation Conference held in Bangkok from 28 to 29 August 2025.

The delegation also included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Frederik Holst and Mr. Afifi Nordin (Bachelor of Politics and International Relations (Hons.)), as well as Mdm. Aliaa Diyana Zamri (Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons.) (Human Resource Management)) from the School of Business and Social Sciences (SBSS). During the conference, they presented their research findings in panel sessions and engaged in extensive networking activities.

In addition, the AIU team held productive meetings with the Chulalongkorn University Social Research Institute (CUSRI), the Yunus Thailand Foundation, and the Yunus Centre at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), which led to tangible outcomes such as potential internship placements, student mobilities, and collaborative research opportunities.

On 30 August, the delegation visited AIT, where they were graciously hosted for dinner by Prof. Dr. Faiz Shah, Executive Director of the Yunus Center of AIT (YCA), alongside Prof. Dr. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice Chancellor of North South University (Bangladesh) and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Grameen Bank.

AIU extends its appreciation for the warm hospitality and looks forward to advancing these newly forged collaborations in research, academic exchange, and community engagement.
