Inspiring Insights on Living Labs at AIU with UTHM

ALOR SETAR, 28 August 2025 – The Centre for Community & Industry Engagement (CCIE), AIU was honored to host Ts. Dr. Nor Azizi Yusoff, Head of CoS Muar Living Lab, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), on Friday, 22/8/2025.

In the morning, Dr. Azizi shared with our staff the inspiring journey of developing the Muar Living Lab, a model that connects university expertise with community needs to create sustainable impact. The afternoon session continued with our community engagement team, where Dr. Azizi provided deeper insights into the operational models, challenges, and strategies that make living labs successful.

Participants gained valuable perspectives on how living labs can serve as platforms for real-world problem-solving, applied research, student learning, and inclusive community development. The sharing also explored the challenges encountered, strategies for sustaining long-term impact, and the potential for replicating such models in other contexts, including at AIU.

We thank Dr. Azizi for the knowledge and inspiration, and we look forward to exploring how AIU can develop similar initiatives to strengthen our role in community transformation.
