APA Referencing Workshops equip AIU Foundation students for academic rigor

ALOR SETAR, 14 August 2025 – The Centre for Foundation and General Studies (CFGS), Albukhary International University (AIU), has strengthened the academic readiness of its Foundation in Arts and Foundation in Computing students through hands-on APA Style 7th Edition Referencing Workshops, held on 12 and 13 August 2025 at the Library Seminar Room.

The sessions equipped students with the skills to apply accurate citations, compile precise reference lists, and avoid plagiarism, essential foundations for credible academic writing. Delivered by Librarians, Madam Nurul Izzati Sabri and Ms. Rabiatul Adawiyah Zulkifli, the workshops combined practical guidance with real-world examples drawn from common referencing challenges.

By focusing on direct application and interactive learning, the sessions gave students greater confidence in producing high-quality, academically sound work. The workshops formed part of the FAH125 Academic Writing Skills and FAH135 Writing and Research Skills courses, ensuring students are well-prepared for the rigours of undergraduate study.
