Alinea Class Wraps Up: Empowering the Next Generation of Critical Writers
ALOR SETAR, 1 August 2025 – The Department of Strategic Research of the Indonesian Student Association at Albukhary International University (KASTRAT PPI AIU) proudly concluded Alinea Class on 28 July 2025, a transformative seven-month academic development initiative designed to strengthen students’ critical writing and academic communication skills.
Spanning two key phases, Writer’s Trace and Writer’s Compass, Alinea Class officially commenced with an intensive Article Workshop on 11 January 2025. This was followed by a sustained series of writing sessions, guided mentorship, collaborative peer reviews, and structured evaluations. The program culminated on 28 July 2025, with the final submission of participants’ writing portfolios and a celebratory Closing Ceremony.
Guided by the expertise of Mr. Mohd Fadli bin Zakaria, CFGS Lecturer, the program provided a supportive environment for students to deeply explore academic writing structures, analytical thinking, and thematic development. Participants not only improved their technical writing abilities but also cultivated research competence, argument clarity, and reflective thinking—vital tools for scholarly achievement and publication readiness.
What set Alinea Class apart was its commitment to sustained learning and intellectual maturity. Through its carefully designed two-part structure, students advanced from mastering the foundations of writing in Writer’s Trace to developing independent, research-based articles in Writer’s Compass, showcasing both critical depth and personal voice.
This initiative reflects KASTRAT PPI AIU’s dedication to promoting a culture of inquiry, academic leadership, and collaborative scholarship. By equipping students with essential academic tools and fostering confidence in self-expression, Alinea Class empowered participants to become insightful writers and emerging thought leaders within and beyond the university.
