ALOR SETAR, 28 July 2025 – We are pleased to share that a group of AIU international students recently took part in the “Pakat Tughun Bendang” program, held in conjunction with International Museum Day and hosted by Muzium Padi Kedah. The program aimed to promote cultural appreciation through leisure-based activities rooted in local heritage.
During the event, students engaged in a variety of traditional kampung-style games, including Gagau Ikan (fish grabbing) and Tangkap Itik (duck catching), offering a fun and interactive introduction to rural Malaysian customs.
We are delighted to note that one of our students won first place in the Tangkap Itik activity—an enjoyable highlight that added a memorable touch to the day.
Beyond the games, the experience served as a unique opportunity for our students to connect with the local community, explore Malaysia’s cultural landscape, and reflect on the role of museums in preserving shared heritage.
We would like to thank Muzium Padi Kedah for the kind invitation, and also extend our appreciation to the CSAA Department for facilitating this meaningful engagement.
Such activities continue to enrich our students’ experience outside the classroom and support AIU’s commitment to holistic, culturally responsive education.
