ALOR SETAR, 15 July 2025 — Albukhary International University (AIU) has launched the first cycle of its 3ZERO Club and Social Business Incubation Programme, an initiative aimed at supporting students in developing sustainable, socially focused business ventures.
The programme, running from June to December 2025, is led by AIU’s Centre of Excellence in Socio-Economic Development and Innovation (ACE-SEDI) in collaboration with the AIU Yunus Social Business Centre (AIU-YSBC). It is open exclusively to AIU students, providing training, mentorship, and seed funding opportunities for those who develop promising social business proposals.
Designed to encourage practical, student-led solutions to social challenges, the initiative helps participants strengthen their business plans while maintaining a focus on measurable social impact. Graduates of the programme will be equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to launch and sustain financially viable enterprises that address community needs.
As of July 2025, AIU has registered 110 3ZERO Clubs with a total of 462 student members. The first orientation workshop, Welcoming the AIU 3ZERO Club, was delivered on 25 June 2025 by Associate Professor Dr. Suraya Hanim Mokhtar, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Innovation) and Head of the Yunus Social Business Centre (YSBC).
The incubation programme is structured into three phases over six months and will run twice a year. Through these efforts, AIU aims to strengthen its commitment to developing socially conscious graduates prepared to drive meaningful change in their communities.
