
AIU contributes to global Social Business dialogue in Bangladesh

ALOR SETAR, 4 July 2025 – Albukhary International University (AIU) took part in the 15th Social Business Day 2025, held on 28 – 29 June in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Organised by the Yunus Centre, the event gathered participants from around the world to discuss practical approaches to social business and sustainable development.
AIU was represented by Mr. Aiman Muqri Ahmad Shukri and Madam Aliaa Diyana Zamri, lecturers from the School of Business and Social Sciences (SBSS), along with students Farhana Akter, Ayman Abdulsalam Mohammed Hussein Al Sinan, and Arezo Jafari. Their participation focused on learning from international experiences and contributing to discussions around the 3ZERO mission goals of Zero Poverty, Zero Unemployment, and Zero Net Carbon Emissions.
On 29 June, Ms. Sharifah Sofia, Trustee of the Albukhary Foundation, spoke in Plenary 4 on “𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘖𝘶𝘳 𝘚𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐𝘯𝘧𝘳𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘴: 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩, 𝘌𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘕𝘶𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘉𝘦𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘥.” Her talk explored how AIU, as a private non-profit university, promotes social business models and the 3ZERO mission to help address global systemic challenges in critical sectors through education.
That same day, Madam Aliaa Diyana Zamri represented Malaysia in the Country Report Back Forum. She shared updates on local initiatives related to the 3ZERO Mission and introduced AIU’s Master’s in Social Business programme, which aims to train future leaders, practitioners, and professionals to develop practical, socially oriented solutions.
