AIU Frisbee Team Shines with 4th Place Finish at GOT VI Ultimate Frisbee Tournament
ALOR SETAR, 16 June 2025 — Albukhary International University (AIU) proudly participated in the GOT VI (Game of Throws) Ultimate Frisbee Tournament held at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Sintok, Kedah. The tournament, which took place from 14–15 June 2025, gathered a competitive field of 16 teams from various local universities and clubs across Malaysia, including participation from an international team representing Singapore.
The AIU Frisbee Team entered the tournament as the 14th seed out of 16 teams. Despite the odds, our students demonstrated remarkable progress, teamwork, and fighting spirit throughout the competition. Alhamdulillah, our team advanced to the semi-finals, where they were narrowly defeated by the eventual tournament champions. In the 3rd and 4th placing, AIU faced off against the Singaporean team and ultimately secured 4th place overall, marking our best achievement in the outdoor category in the past two years.
This accomplishment reflects the hard work, discipline, and growth of our student-athletes and the continuous support provided by the university. Participating in such tournaments not only enhances students’ sporting abilities but also fosters leadership, resilience, and a sense of camaraderie within a competitive environment.
We would like to extend our deepest appreciation to the university management for their support in facilitating our participation, which includes logistics, training support, and encouragement. This achievement is a step forward for AIU in building a strong and reputable presence in the national and international university sports arena.
