
AIU Foundation Students Gain Early Insight into Undergraduate Pathways through CFGS Programme Briefing

ALOR SETAR, 16 June 2025 — The Centre for Foundation and General Studies (CFGS), Albukhary International University (AIU) successfully conducted the Undergraduate Programme Briefing for final semester Foundation Studies students. Held on 10 June 2025, the session served as a platform to provide early exposure to undergraduate programmes offered by the university, helping students gain a clearer understanding of academic pathways and what is expected at the undergraduate level.
The session featured three schools under AIU which are the School of Computing and Informatics (SCI), the School of Education and Human Sciences (SEHS) and the School of Business and Social Sciences (SBSS). Each school was represented by their respective Heads of Programme (HOPs) who introduced and promoted their programme offerings.
Representing the School of Computing and Informatics was Mdm. Halawati Abd Jalil Safuan, the Head of Programme for the Bachelor of Computer Science. She provided an overview of all undergraduate programmes offered under the School of Computing and Informatics, including Bachelor of Computer Science and Bachelor of Data Science. During her session, she also presented the study plans for each of the programmes,outlining the academic structure and outcome that the progression students can expect throughout their studies.
From School of Education and Human Sciences, Mr. Mohamad Nor Hisyam Bin Musa the head of programme for Bachelor of Media and Communication, Dr. Amani Abdullah Mubarak the head of programme for Bachelor of Elementary Education and Mdm. Samihah Mahamud, the head of programme for Bachelor of Early Childhood Education provided an overview of the academic structure and objectives for their respective programmes, aiming to give students a clearer understanding of the pathways available within the School of Education and Human Sciences.
The afternoon session featured the active participation of the School of Business and Social Sciences, led by Dr. Noorul Hafidzah Zawawi, who is both the Dean of the school and the head of programme for Bachelor of Politics and International Relations (Honours). She was accompanied by Dr. Azni Abdul Rashid the head of programme for Bachelor of Business Administration (Marketing)(Honours), Mdm. Aliaa Diyana Zamri the head of programme for Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours)(Human Resource Management), Mdm. Farah Syazwani Hayrol Aziz the head of programme for Bachelor of Social Development (Honours), Mr. Mohamad Mokhlis Ahmad Fuad the Deputy Dean of the school and head of programme for Bachelor of Finance in Islamic Finance (Honours) and Mr. Osaid N.A Abdaljawwad the head of programme for Bachelor of Economics (Honours). Together, they delivered a comprehensive overview of the business and social sciences fields, highlighting the undergraduate programmes offered and ensuring they resonate with students’ academic interests and potential career prospects.
Through this engagement, students received early exposure to undergraduate-level learning, expectations and fields of study enabling them to make informed decisions as they prepare for the next stage of their academic journey.
The Undergraduate Programme Briefing exemplified CFGS’s ongoing commitment to holistic education, supporting academic excellence, personal growth and character development among its foundation students.
