ALOR SETAR, 10 February 2026 – The School of Education and Human Sciences (SEHS), Albukhary International University (AIU) successfully hosted “It’s a Showtime: Role Play” , a project presentation by Year 1 Bachelor in Early Childhood Education (BECE) students, on 3 February 2026 at the Auditorium.

Organised under the course ECC1143 – Play in Early Childhood Education for Semester 1, Academic Session 2025/2026, the event showcased how play, creativity, and imagination serve as effective pedagogical tools in early childhood learning.

Two student groups presented engaging role-play performances reflecting child-centred learning. Group 1, with “The Magic of Toothbrush”, highlighted daily routines, self-care, and imaginative learning, while Group 2, through “Let Them Play!”, emphasised free play, exploration, and holistic child development.

The presentations were evaluated by a distinguished panel comprising Ms. Fadhilah Syahirah Ismail, Acting Principal of KS International School; Madam Nurul Huda Hassan Bakri and Ms. Nur Faridatul Jamalia Radzali, lecturers from SEHS; and Ms. Auliantika Selian, BECE alumnus. Their professional insights enriched the learning experience with practical classroom perspectives.

Overall, the event demonstrated the successful integration of theory and practice, reinforcing play as a cornerstone of quality early childhood education while nurturing confident, creative, and professional future educators.

AIU Leads Global English Workshop for Shinshu University, Japan

ALOR SETAR, 10 February 2026 – Albukhary International University (AIU) staff successfully conducted a two-day Global Staff Development (English Programme) workshop on 6 and 9 February 2026 for officers from Shinshu University, Japan. The programme was held in collaboration with Penang Math Platform (PMP), which provided the venue and platform for this international engagement.

Facilitated by Madam Alia Hanim Zainal Abidin and Mr. Mohd Fadli bin Zakaria, the workshop aimed to enhance participants’ confidence and effectiveness in professional English communication within an international and cross-cultural context.

The sessions focused on vocal delivery, body language, professional presence, non-verbal communication, and practical English skills for workplace interaction, social engagement, and cross-cultural awareness. Special emphasis was placed on Japan–international communication contexts, particularly in Human Resources and Marketing settings, supported by interactive and application-based activities.

Following the positive outcomes of this workshop, Shinshu University plans to send an additional 20 staff members for the same training, further strengthening institutional collaboration and professional development initiatives.

Through programmes such as this, AIU continues to advance international engagement and empower professionals with effective communication skills for the global workplace.

ALOR SETAR, 9 February 2026– Albukhary International University (AIU) successfully organised BIG WOW 2025/2026 on 27 and 28 January 2026 , a flagship orientation programme led by the Centre for Student Affairs and Alumni (CSAA) through the Student Welfare Unit.

The programme marked an important milestone for new students, featuring structured orientation sessions, the Oath-Taking Ceremony, and briefings delivered by external government agencies. These sessions aimed to enhance students’ awareness of responsibilities, compliance requirements, and key aspects of student life and well-being.

BIG WOW 2025/2026 also provided early exposure to university expectations, welfare support services, and guidance from both internal stakeholders and government authorities, ensuring a smooth and informed transition into campus life.

Through initiatives such as BIG WOW, CSAA continues to reinforce AIU’s commitment to student welfare, character development, and holistic growth.

AIU Students Participate in Perlis International Sunnah Convention 2026

ALOR SETAR, 4 February 2026 – A total of 27 Albukhary International University (AIU) students participated in the Perlis International Sunnah Convention 2026 at Dewan Wawasan 2020, Kangar, Perlis, from 31 January to 1 February 2026.

The two-day convention featured renowned local and international scholars and sheikhs, offering lectures, forums, and interactive sessions focused on authentic Islamic teachings, scholarly methodology, and applying the Sunnah in contemporary life.

Through participation, AIU students gained intellectual and spiritual enrichment, strengthened ethical awareness, and enhanced their understanding of Islamic scholarship. The programme also provided networking opportunities with participants from diverse institutions.

AIU SEHS Clears Over 78kg of Waste at Pantai Leman, Spreading Awareness on Waste Segregation

ALOR SETAR, 4 February 2026 – The School of Education and Human Sciences (SEHS), Albukhary International University (AIU), successfully conducted Phase One of the “Jom Tip Pah: Jom Kutip Sampah” clean-up at Pantai Leman, Kuala Kedah on 31 January 2026.

The programme involved SK Kuala Kedah (Penolong Kanan Hal Ehwal Murid Cikgu Mohd Nizam bin Omar, teachers, 40 pupils), e-Idaman (En. Mukhrizani bin Mahmud), NGO Generasi Peduli Sampah Malaysia (GPS), and Kolej Poly-Tech MARA Alor Setar.

Activities began with an aerobic session led by SEHS, followed by environmental awareness sessions by BEE and BECE students, supervised by Dr. Amani Mubarak using Jabatan Alam Sekitar modules.

The clean-up collected 69.4 kg general waste and 9.15 kg recyclables (6.30 kg plastics, 2.10 kg tin & aluminium, 0.40 kg iron), mitigating microplastic pollution and protecting marine ecosystems. Recyclables were exchanged via e-Idaman Xchange (RM3.00).

Professor Dr. Abdul Malek bin Abdul Karim, Dean of SEHS, shared insights on AIU’s 3ZERO Club—zero waste, zero poverty, zero unemployment. Phase Two is scheduled for 25 April 2026.

AIU Orators Club Coaches KMKN Delegates for IPMA Model United Nations

ALOR SETAR, 4 February 2026 – AIU Orators Club, Albukhary International University (AIU), was honoured to conduct a coaching session for delegates from Kolej MARA Kuala Nerang (KMKN) in preparation for the upcoming IPMA Model United Nations (MUN) on 19 January 2026. The session involved ten selected KMKN delegates who visited the AIU campus for focused training.

The coaching session was organised following a request from KMKN, reflecting AIU Orators Club’s strong reputation and proven track record in Model United Nations competitions, which has positioned the club as a trusted reference point for MUN training and development.

The programme focused on equipping participants with essential MUN knowledge and practical skills through experience-sharing sessions, close mentoring, and a full MUN simulation. AIU Orators members shared insights on MUN procedures, delegate roles, debate strategies, research techniques, resolution writing, public speaking, and diplomatic engagement.

To reinforce learning, a simulated MUN debate was conducted, allowing delegates to practise formal motions, points of order, and collaborative negotiation in a realistic conference setting. The simulation boosted participants’ confidence and familiarised them with the dynamics of an actual MUN debate.

The initiative strengthened delegates’ understanding of MUN procedures while fostering meaningful engagement between AIU Orators Club and KMKN. AIU Orators Club remains committed to nurturing young debaters and contributing to the development of future leaders through mentorship and educational outreach.

AIU Celebrates Intercultural Learning through International Intercultural Festival 2026

ALOR SETAR, 3 February 2026 – Albukhary International University (AIU) successfully organised the International Intercultural Festival (IIF) 2026 from 23 to 24 January 2026 under the course EMC1123: Introduction to Intercultural Communication, involving 155 AIU students in a two-day interdisciplinary programme focused on intercultural awareness, experiential learning, and community engagement.

The festival was jointly coordinated by the School of Education and Human Sciences (SEHS) through the Bachelor of Media and Communication (BMC) programme and the School of Computing and Informatics (SCI) through the Computer Science and Data Science programmes, reflecting AIU’s commitment to interdisciplinary education and holistic student development.

The programme featured academic and community-based activities including sessions on language and culture, non-verbal communication, digital culture, media analysis, and basic programming, alongside community service initiatives, cultural performances, Interculture Night, grant and food basket distribution, and engagement with kampung residents and KEDA leadership.

Participants highlighted the value of hands-on learning experiences that enhanced their understanding of intercultural dynamics while contributing positively to the local community. The initiative aligns with AIU’s mission to empower communities and supports the objectives of the 3ZERO Project through socially responsible education.

The festival was implemented in collaboration with Lembaga Kemajuan Wilayah Kedah (KEDA), strengthening partnerships between AIU and regional stakeholders and reinforcing the University’s vision of inclusive education and sustainable community development.
